Real estate and the internet

Many real estate deals have an online presence now, as many real estate companies and real estate agents are realizing the vast potential of the internet as a way to market their properties.
However, as consumers we must always be careful with the internet, because in the same way it gives everyone benefits, it can also be abused by many. Many people have fallen victim to the scam where cheap mortgage refinancing is offered, but asks consumers to pay a “processing fee”. Once the customer pays, he or she never hears from the supposed refinancing company again. Even worse, some even steal personal information and use it take out mortgages in someone else’s name – which, if you’re careless, could be you. Keep all your personal information safe, and do not put it on the web, if banks or any reputable institution needs it, they will send more than an email.
