Document Sharing: Folders, pretty much similar to the folders in your My Documents section, are created and files can be uploaded and stored for access by all members of the network. Permissions can be set for each folder to allow only authorized personnel to gain access and view the documents. Confidential files are usually stored in these types of folder. Other company files such as operations manuals, personnel documents, training materials and shareable marketing brochures are another example of the type of documents that might be stored and shared.
Individual and Group Calendars: Nearly all intranet services allow the synchronization of a member’s Outlook or Palm device with the Calendar Function. Items and meetings marked Private will be visible only to the individual member under their log-in. Open access items will be visible to the group. You can also set up groups within the company, such as Admin or Agents, set conferences and activities that will be visible only to the assigned group. Members can also request RSVP to their meeting invitations.
Shared and Individual Tasks: As with the Calendar, members can share group tasks, maintain private task lists, and sync with their Outlook and Palm devices. Brokers can assign tasks to Agents, or Agents to Assistants. A Transaction Coordinator can enter and assign tasks for closings.

Many real estate deals have an online presence now, as many real estate companies and real estate agents are realizing the vast potential of the internet as a way to market their properties.
However, as consumers we must always be careful with the internet, because in the same way it gives everyone benefits, it can also be abused by many. Many people have fallen victim to the scam where cheap mortgage refinancing is offered, but asks consumers to pay a “processing fee”. Once the customer pays, he or she never hears from the supposed refinancing company again. Even worse, some even steal personal information and use it take out mortgages in someone else’s name – which, if you’re careless, could be you. Keep all your personal information safe, and do not put it on the web, if banks or any reputable institution needs it, they will send more than an email.

As usual, the trend comes from the internet and what better way to save on money than to go on an open house without leaving your home or office. Called Virtual Open Houses, you have the seller/agents giving you access through the internet either as the actual open house is happening or through a graphical representation and enhanced video-recorded tours.
This is only sensible for the few who still have jobs cannot afford to slack off work or risk losing it and it saves time in the long run towards searching for the perfect home. Though time and effort saving, an actual tour would be in order once you have short-listed your choices so you don’t get surprises you didn’t see. Technology is indeed resulting in better tools for the house hunter and real estate industry itself as it tries to weather out the effects of the recession.

An investment real estate expert said that it is wise counsel to do due diligence when purchasing a property, especially rental property. Due diligence is a careful, thorough, meticulous and conscientious examination and review of data pertinent to property operations. You need to do careful inspection of every apartment unit, be attentive to details, think of reducing if not eliminating some expenses and be meticulous in your own evaluation. It is the time to make an accurate assessment of repairs to be done, maintenance and operational costs – short, it is the time to discover every possible flaw and problem with the property for you to be able to make a realistic projection of potential income opportunities. Unexpectedly, due diligence could also be fun because it is when you find out surprising things about the property you wish to buy. It’s kind of like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re going to get!

Okay, so now you are a believer. But where do you start? There are so many sites which one should you pick first? There are several options, First go to what you know. When you think of Social Networking which site comes to mind first. Second, ask your colleagues. Which sites are they active on? Third (this one is earth shattering so brace yourself), where are your clients? Trust me, you do have clients that are active in Social Media and they would more than welcome your presence.
Now that you’ve signed up the Next thing is to find friends and the easiest way is to make use of the “find a friend” feature that most of these sites have. They will literally upload your current contact list and search their database for people with those names and email addresses. Yes, it is that simple.
Next, you need to be active but be careful. Users of Social Media are there to connect and build relationships, not be sold to. That’s where Subversive Marketing comes in.
