Document Sharing: Folders, very similar to the folders in your computer My Documents section, are created and files can be uploaded and stored for access by all members. Permissions are set for each folder to allow only those authorized to gain access and view the documents. Company operations manuals, personnel documents, training materials and shareable marketing brochures are all examples of the type of documents that might be stored and shared.

Individual and Group Calendars: Most intranet services allow the synchronizing of a member’s Outlook or Palm device with the Calendar Function. Items and meetings marked Private will be visible only to the individual member under their login. Group items will be visible to all. You can also set up groups within the company, such as Admin or Agents, and set meetings and events that will be visible only to the assigned group. Members can RSVP to their meeting invitations.

Shared and Individual Tasks: As with the Calendar, members can share group tasks, maintain private task lists, and sync with their Outlook and Palm devices. Brokers can assign tasks to Agents, or Agents to Assistants. A Transaction Coordinator can enter and assign tasks for closings.

Your future business could well thrive or suffer based on how well you embrace the new world of technology. If you’re afraid of it, you should get the proper help or assistant to deal with it for you.
The 2006 REALTOR Technology Survey from the National Association of Realtors can provide a great deal of information about what technology other real estate professionals are using and what they plan to develop.

If you’re behind the curve, don’t let it get worse. Start working toward intelligent use of hardware, software and online services that can increase your business and make it more efficient.

The Sierra Club is seeking to protect US public lands from threats like oil and gas drilling, unchecked development, irresponsible recreation, logging, and global warming. In order to save what remains of the wild, the Sierra Club has launched a campaign to protect fifty-two of the most exceptional places–one in every state, plus Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia–over the next ten years. They have released a new report called America’s Wild Legacy. And they have also released a Google Earth collection showing all 52 locations [Google Earth File. You must have GE installed.] as placemarks, with information included in each description bubble including photos, and links to the report and other information.

Google Earth is an excellent visualization tool to help people understand issues effecting the environment. You will find many examples of this in the GEB’s environment category and under the Google Earth Global Awareness layer. And, Google recently formed a new Google Outreach program to help non-profits promote and develop content using Google Earth.

House hunting has been made easier by Technology. You don’t have to get out from the comfort of your homes. You can do it sitting in front of your computer screens. All you have to do is have Internet access and go online to “virtual tours”. It is the same as house hunting but better- it allows you to see the house in a 3-D and 360-degree perspective. Things that your eyes cannot see can catch a glimpse on spots provided by the virtual tours they may offer.

Truly, modern technology has made it more convenient for people in their dealings in life. Not only does virtual touring save you transportation expenses and gas, but it can also save you a lot of energy for more important things in life.

Bluetooth technology can drastically improve how we make cell phone calls. Are there other ways that the same technology can benefit real estate agents? YES.

Bluetooth is a wireless communication standard that can connect devices over a range of 30 feet. While we are all familiar with connecting our cell phones to a Bluetooth headset (like my new Jabra BT5020), there are numerous other peripherals that use Bluetooth to eliminate wires.

Add Bluetooth

To start, you need to have a Bluetooth transmitter on your computer. Embedded Bluetooth cards are becoming very popular in laptop computers. If you are purchasing a new laptop, make sure that it includes a Bluetooth card.

For those who need to add Bluetooth to an existing laptop or desktop, it is very simple. Several companies offer Bluetooth adapters ranging in price from $20 to $50. These adapters usually connect via USB and look much like a flash memory drive.

A unique Bluetooth adapter is the Kensington Micro Bluetooth Adapter. It is the size of a penny and when plugged into a USB port, sticks out less than a quarter of an inch. This allows you to connect the device and not have to remove it to put your laptop away.

I noticed that a lot of people are skeptical in investing in real estate technology. Usually, skepticism is a very tricky word. Yes, you can get rid of the possibilities of having financial losses because you didn’t invest anything at all, but deciding not to push through with it can also make a lot of opportunities pass your lap.

You must have an open mind if you are deciding for the betterment of your real estate business. It may not be easy, but it is a very helpful strategy I tell you. If someone presents a new technology to you, stop thinking negatively. Ask for the positive side of implementing such project.

The Delhi Real Estate industry is really improving. Did you know that the real estate owners in Delhi registered their properties electronically? Once a payment for the property registration is done by the owner, an identification number that is unique will be issued with the payment. The title holder is required to produce an ID number in the local sub-registrar once he/she gets the electronic identification number.

The new process implemented needs less papers and it is more helpful in preventing fraud in property registrations. You can visibly see 21 counters across the city that was installed by the Dehli government.
