Bankrupt Big Box Developments Prove Bane to Commercial Real Estate

The rash of several commercial establishments and even malls closing is proving to be a thorn on the side of otherwise booming commercial estates. Left abandoned and shuttered due to the lack of possible tenants and with with most possible renters downsizing their properties, rentals and staff, it may take a lot of time till these properties become productive again, rotting into the earth, a mere remnant of the boom of the retail industry, also hit hard by the recession and the subsequent fall of the value of the dollar. It has become more of an eyesore and safety hazard for these big enclosed spaces do become haven for criminal minds with more dangers adding to their crumbling infrastructure. The commercial reals estate market and the many brokers are making a killing with cheap purchases, adding them to their already growing portfolio of properties they have to maintain and secure, hoping they’d be able o unload them as the market recovers, for a killer price that is.
