As usual, the trend comes from the internet and what better way to save on money than to go on an open house without leaving your home or office. Called Virtual Open Houses, you have the seller/agents giving you access through the internet either as the actual open house is happening or through a graphical representation and enhanced video-recorded tours.
This is only sensible for the few who still have jobs cannot afford to slack off work or risk losing it and it saves time in the long run towards searching for the perfect home. Though time and effort saving, an actual tour would be in order once you have short-listed your choices so you don’t get surprises you didn’t see. Technology is indeed resulting in better tools for the house hunter and real estate industry itself as it tries to weather out the effects of the recession.
